Our Mission
The Houston International Seafarers Center provides a “home away from home” for seafarers visiting the Port of Houston by meeting their spiritual, social and physical needs through support, assistance and fellowship. We visit ships 7 a days a week, 365 days a year. We are a secure resource for transportation, various communication service tools, building relationships and providing a safe harbor for all seafarers.

Houston International Seafarers’ Center – 45th Annual Maritime Gala – Bronze Anchor Award Recipient and Honoree – David Clark
The Board of Directors of the Houston International Seafarers Center (HISC) was excited to recognize David Clark with the 2024 “Bronze Anchor Award.” David has long served the maritime community and promoted seafarer well-being.
During his 40+ year career at an active marine LPG and petrochemical facility on the Houston Ship Channel, David held various leadership positions, including facility manager for 21 years. All those positions required interfacing with the Houston and global maritime community, especially with the seafarers on board the vessels visiting his facility.
