North American Maritime Ministry Training Program
Since 1972, the North American Maritime Ministry Training Program (aka: The Houston International Ship Visitors School or simply, the Houston School) has been leveraging the experience and knowledge of the Houston Center’s Chaplains, staff and many local, government, and national experts to help further develop those involved in seafarers’ welfare and ministry.
The program gives an overview and discussion of key issues in seafarers’ welfare and maritime ministry. This international, annual training school, is for new maritime ministry Chaplains, pastoral team members, ship visitors, managers and volunteers. It is also useful for those who have experience in maritime ministry, and wish to sharpen their skills.
The school is managed by the North American Maritime Ministry Association (NAMMA) and endorsed by Stella Maris. For more information on this year’s training program, please visit the NAMMA website.
